Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, the Finance and Planning Minister of Bangladesh, has been hospitalised after contracting pneumonia. He is currently receiving treatment at United Hospital in the capital, Dhaka.

According to Shahiduzzaman, the personal assistant to the Finance Minister, Chowdhury’s condition was confirmed to be caused by pneumonia. However, he assured the public that the minister’s health is improving, with his condition steadily progressing in a positive direction.

Khasru, who represents the Chattogram-11 constituency, was elected to the 13th National Parliament as a candidate from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). Following the election, he was appointed as the Minister of Finance and Planning in the newly formed government.

The sudden hospitalisation has raised concerns, as Khasru plays a pivotal role in managing the country's financial strategies and economic policies. However, his team has reassured the public that he remains in good hands and continues to receive comprehensive care.

Khasru’s contribution to the current government has been significant, particularly in steering economic plans and policies. His hospitalisation has led to an outpouring of support from various political leaders and well-wishers, all hoping for his swift recovery.
