Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority has announced the schedule for the practical examinations required for the recruitment of Computer Operators and Data Entry or Control Operators. The assessment, a decisive stage in the selection process, will take place on 5 March 2026, a Friday, for candidates who previously qualified in the written examination.
According to the official notice, the practical tests will be conducted at the Bangladesh Computer Council building in Agargaon, Dhaka. Applicants have been instructed to report to the examination centre at least fifteen minutes before the scheduled start time. The authority has cautioned that late arrival may result in disqualification from participation.
The posts fall within two separate government service grades. The Computer Operator position is categorised under Grade Thirteen, while the Data Entry or Control Operator role is listed under Grade Sixteen. Both roles are considered essential to strengthening the organisation’s administrative and technological capacity.
| Post Title | Grade | Date | Time | Venue |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Computer Operator | Grade 13 | 5 March 2026 | 10:00 am | Bangladesh Computer Council, Agargaon |
| Data Entry or Control Operator | Grade 16 | 5 March 2026 | 12:00 pm | Bangladesh Computer Council, Agargaon |
The practical examination will assess candidates’ technical proficiency in computer operation, data processing capability, typing speed and accuracy in both Bangla and English, document preparation skills, and overall competence in performing official duties. As the assessment is skill based, prospective candidates have been advised to undertake thorough preparation and practical rehearsal.
Recruitment specialists note that hands on evaluation is particularly important for information technology related roles, as it ensures that selected personnel possess the operational efficiency required for modern administrative functions. In recent years, the authority has undertaken initiatives to expand technology driven services, modernise document management systems, and strengthen digital operations across the insurance sector. Consequently, the appointment of technically proficient and digitally aware staff has become a strategic priority.
The list of candidates who successfully passed the written examination has already been published. Those who pass the practical stage will be invited to attend an oral examination, after which final appointments will be confirmed. Candidates have been directed to bring their admission cards, identification documents, and other required papers to the examination centre.
Through this structured, multi stage recruitment process, the authority aims to ensure transparency, accountability, and merit based selection in strengthening its workforce, thereby enhancing efficiency and service delivery within the national insurance regulatory framework.
